Anyone Can Perform This Simple Magic Card Trick
Magic card tricks are some of the easiest around, even children can do them. The following card trick is based on simple math. If your child can count they can do this trick. The performance of this trick will take some practice and a little finesse.
Where to start:
Grab yourself a standard 52 card deck and explain that you will be making some separate piles of cards, proceed to shuffle the cards. The card at the top of each pile is the card that you begin with it is important to hold the decks facing upwards so you keep track of everything that is going on. Number the piles from one to thirteen, ace being the number one card. How many cards it takes to reach thirteen will depend on the number of the starting card. Lets say your first card is an ace, now you can take the next card as being two and count all the way up to thirteen making it a pile. Keep in mind that the suits do not matter; lets say the first card is a two, count the next card as three, and then four and so on until you have reached the number thirteen card. When the initial card is a ten then the next card will be eleven, then twelve followed by thirteen to complete the pile. Do not count out loud. In this pile you will only find four cards. Place the piles on a bench or table facing up and when you have used them up carefully turn them over so that the cards that were at the bottom are now on the top of the pile.
Here is the finesse:
Make it look like you are just placing down random piles of cards when you are actually counting the cards. You cannot start a pile with face cards. If your first card is a face card just say, “I don’t like face cards” and put it on the bottom of the deck or slide in the deck anywhere. While counting the cards and setting up your piles be sure you are keeping track of the cards faced up you are shuffling. There will be remaining cards at the end of deck which will not add up to enough cards to form a pile with. Each pile must contain thirteen cards so with the excess just put them aside and say, “we wont be needing these” be sure they do not get mixed in together. Be careful to count correctly as the trick depends on the math.
Next piece of the trick:
There will be seven piles of cards in front of you approximately. The number of piles will not matter. After removing them get the people to hand you the piles one at a time. With the cards you had set aside put them into your hand face down while they make their choices. Add the piles they hand to you to the cards in your hand. If you had ended with six piles you would have them remove three or if you ended with seven piles you would have them remove four piles. Be sure there are always three piles left. Even if you tell them to leave three piles on the table it will still work.
Now the fun part:
Let the people flip over the card on the top of any two piles to reveal what is there. Now you will have two piles with the top card turned face up. What you want to do is find the number that is on top of the pile so search the deck. You will not know the suit, just the number of the card so do not forget to tell them this. More showmanship is here. Pretend to be searching for the right number even though you are secretly counting the cards. Counting the cards is what you are doing. First you will count out ten cards. Next read out the number on the starting card that is facing up on one of the piles of cards. Now count up to what the second card facing up had as its number. Let us say you pick up a two and three on two of the piles then you must count out ten of the cards, again count two and three more from those that are turned over.
The big finale:
Now you have some cards left in your hand. You could have ten or one card left it does not matter. Count the last cards without being obvious and then put them down and say, “Okay, I have found the right card”. The number of the top card on the last pile is “.” After counting out all of the other cards be sure to say what the remaining cards are. Call it and say it is an Ace when there is just the one card remaining. Or, if there were two cards left you will say the card is a two, and so on. Rather than flip over the last card yourself, let the audience member turn it over.
In closing:
Correct counting will guarantee the trick always works.
The piles must remain intact, when the piles are turned over make sure the top card remains on top.
You have to start with 52 cards for it to work.

Most vampires who seek to practice the mystical arts go immediately down the dark path. The inherent nature of a vampire is to be a killer, and so they are constantly attracted to evil. Some however, have grown beyond evil, and have learned how to live naturally with the world around them. These can start the slow but oddly fulfilling path of trying to uncover the positive powers of the unseen universe.
