Easy Card Tricks - XRay Vision Card Trick

I found this cool little post. Quite an ice breaker at parties or other social gatherings.

Well well well - it is that time again. Time for easy card tricks. Time to learn magic card tricks,tricks so easy they could be kids magic tricks.

Enough with the intro already. I have for you today a card trick that is named:

The X-Ray Vision Card Trick

!! Before you read on, go take a deck of cards. You will learn this trick quicker and you will actually remember it. Believe me on this.
Don’t hop over the above paragraph.

So, you got the pack of cards:

Phase 1. Put all the clubs of the pack in lowest to highest order, put them at the bottom — the ace of clubs should be the first (visible) card.

!! Make this preparation beforehand.

Phase 2. Set the scene of the trick and have the audience choose a card — this card must NOT be one of the club bottom cards.

sample: “Ok audience_member_name let us do some magic. Pick a card, no, pick another, you can’t have that one (in case he/she selects from among the clubs).”

TIP: To make sure your friend doesn’t choose from the clubs you could simply pick up the top two thirds of the pack, fan them and have him choose from that.

Phase 3. Place the chosen card on top of the deck and cut the deck until there is a clubs on the bottom.
ex: “Please cut the deck. Again if you please. Again. Let me do it once to.”

TIP: with just a little practice you will find that you can estimate when a club card has gotten to the bottom of the pack. Make sure you don’t draw attention to the fact that you’re looking at the bottom card.

Phase 4. You casually pick up the deck and glance at the bottom card (if there isn’t a club card yet, cut again). Lets say that the card on the bottom is the 8 of clubs.

sample of what you would say: “So tell me. Do you believe in magic. YES/NO. Using my telekinetic powers I can tell you that your card is the eighth card from the top.”

TIP: while you are saying this you have cassually observed the number of the club card (again in our example this is the 8 of clubs).

Phase 5. Having taken note that the bottom card is the 8 of clubs you start dealing cards from the top of the deck one by one. The 8th one will be the card that the sucker, hmphmphm,  I mean magic recipient has chosen.

ex: “Explain that then. Let me show you another one just to show you that this is really magic.
