When he graduated from high school in 1941 he knew that his family didn’t have the money to send him to college but that didn’t matter to Tom. Then on that fateful day, in December when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, the whole world and Tom’s life changed. The next day Tom went to town and signed up for the Army. After his basic training Tom was sent to San Antonio, Texas to start his training in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The training wasn’t easy. But his instructor told him he was one of the best stick-and-rudder men he had ever seen. Tom was sent to Europe. He flew the P-51 Mustang. It was a fast, stunningly beautiful airplane and he loved flying it. Even though flying provided Tom with much happiness the job he was assigned to do would not be considered a happy one. He was fully aware that Nazi Germany was evil and the allies were fighting on the side of good. He would escort bombers, because the P-51 fighters were known as ‘little friends’. He would shoot at German Fighters to protect the bombers. With the four 50 caliber machine guns, the enemy’s airplanes would sustain very heavy damage. Tom was also tasked with strafing ground positions such as troop trains, aircraft hangars, trucks, tanks, and columns of enemy troops. When they say war is hell, it is true.
After the war Tom went back to the family farm. It was now 1948, Tom was 25, and he decided he would take advantage of the G.I. Bill and go to college. He liked History and decided to major in that. In a very short time history was to take a big part in Tom’s life again. The Korean Conflict started in 1950. Since Tom was a WWII Veteran and had already flown in combat he again found himself in an airplane, this time as an F-86 Sabre pilot. The U.S. Army Air Corps was now the United States Air Force. He flew over the Yalu River in Northwestern North Korea in an area known as MiG Alley. The ‘dogfights’ were a big part of being an F-86 Sabre fighter pilot. He would also strafe ground targets and provide Close Air Support. The war was over in 1953 and Tom went home. He had made a promise to himself that he would finish his college education and get a teaching degree in History. Tom found a job working at the hardware store in town and the owner let him live in the small apartment upstairs. Now he was settled down at home during peacetime with a job and attending college. After completing college he got a history teaching position at a local community college. So instead of participating in history as he had in WWII and the Korean Conflict he was teaching it to young people. That is where Tom met the most beautiful woman in the world - her name was Mary. Mary Ellen Palmer to be exact. They met on a cool autumn day in October of 1955 and they started dating. Before long they had a full-time relationship. They were very much in love. A couple of years went by and Tom and Mary decided to get married. They planned on getting married in 1958 on the 12th of June. Tom was 34 now and Mary was 33. They weren’t a rich couple and didn’t have a lot of material things but they were happy. It was now the 1960’s and it seemed that anything was possible. The country had a young president and human beings were beginning to explore space. Tom and Mary were now thinking of having children as Mary was now 36. They had a 5-1/2 pound baby boy on May 12th 1961 and his name was Charles Daniel Fuller. They called him Charlie.

Dracula’s flashbacks to his Judas days lasts only 5 mins but it’s such an enlightening scene. I can’t explain it, but I felt a deep sense of fulfillment and satisfaction after I learned it. Suddenly I felt like I understood Dracula so much more and where he was coming from.
If you haven’t yet, you need to see it.
One final note, I made the mistake of watching the 2 direct-to-video sequels to this film naively thinking they would offer more insight and elaboration into the Judas story. They didn’t. Cycladic sculptures are thousands of years old and yet look eerily modern. A face with no facial features, except the nose, is not exactly how we think of ancient Greek art. Cycladic art came to prominence during the twentieth century. Unfortunately that started a period of looting, which destroyed the possibility of putting the sculptures in any kind of location or archeological context. To this day we know very little about Cycladic art. A measure of its growing importance is the existence of the Cycladic Museum located in the heart of Athens, Greece.
The Greek islands of the Cyclades are located to the South East of Greece and to the North of Crete in the Aegean Sea. There are more than two hundred islands approximating a circle around the most significant island Delos, the birthplace of Apollo, Greek God of music and light from Greek mythology and of Artemis, the huntress. The Greek name for the Cyclades is Kyklades, an obvious reference to a circle.
During the period between 3200 and 2000 B.C. the small Cycladic islands in the Aegean became home to a flourishing culture. The most prominent craft in Cycladic culture was stone-cutting, especially marble sculpture. The abundance of high quality white marble on the islands encouraged its use for the creation of a wide range of artifacts. Among these, Cycladic Figurines are the most distinctive Cycladic creation because of the style, the great numbers in which they are found, and the significance they held for their owners. The majority of Cycladic Figurines show women, nude with the arms folded over the belly and the long feet, soles sloping downwards. We do not know whether they were meant to show mortals or deities, but probably symbolized the worship of the ‘Mother Goddess’. In this case, the figurines may have been conceived as representations of the Goddess, or companions to her. Many figurines have been discovered in relation to burials as the Cycladic civilization flourished and burials became more elaborate to reflect status.
Color Field painting is further separated from Pop Art and a number of other contemporary movements in ideal and aim. Color Field painting can be viewed as conservative and apolitical in comparison with the cynical, immoral view of life put forth by Pop Art. The use of amorphous, simplified or geometric shapes and the overwhelming emphasis on color makes the works of Frankenthaler, Louis and Noland universal in their language and message.
To this day Keros and surrounding islands are home mainly to archeologists attempting to explain one of those mysteries of human behavior and human art that drive us with a ‘need to know’. Art, in all forms, leaves behind a legacy of a civilizations history, behavior, values and intrigue. Fortunately for us it also provides beauty that only human civilizations can produce

Having said that, given two hands of blackjack, on an average, you will win one and lose one, or play the house relatively even. Over the long haul, you will lose because the house does have a slight advantage. That’s how they stay in business. So the key to beating them in the short term (you’ll never beat them long term) is to manage your bets in such a way that you CAN play the house even or even slightly worse than even and still come out ahead. How do you do this?
Let’s say we’re playing at a $10 minimum table. What you do is start out betting double the minimum. You’ll see why shortly. So you’re betting $20. If you win that bet, on your next bet you drop down to the $10 minimum. The reason is simple. According to the law of averages, you can’t expect to win two hands in a row. You might, but you can’t expect it. Therefore, by dropping down to $10 on the next bet, should you lose, take a look at what has just happened.
You won the first hand, lost the second hand, played the house even and YET, you walk away with a $10 profit. It’s basic math. If you do lose that second hand, you go right back to betting $20 and starting the progression all over again.
But what if you actually win the second hand? Then what? In that case, you will make your next bet $15.
Why $15?
The short explanation is that you don’t want to play the house three hands, win two of them and only have $10 to show for it. By betting $15, you will show a $15 profit for 2 wins, or $7.50 per win.
The complete regression betting system, as it is called, goes like this…
$20, $10, $15, $20, $25, $30, $35, etc.
You continue the betting pattern until you lose. Once you lose, you start all over again at $20.
If you lose 3 straight hands (I call it 3 strikes and you’re out) you walk away from the table.
This is the hardest thing for any gambler to do, but it is a MUST or you’re looking to get whacked at the tables. Losing streaks will occur.
With a group of four players, or with standard pack of cards and even with a good placement to play can make the game happening.
