It is hard for me to believe that 2009 has definitely been really huge for the classic 1960s band The Beatles OK, and MJ had a big year too With the long awaited release of the remastered versions of their music on CD and in mp3 (on The Beatles USB) many Beatles fans dreams have come true this year.
The box set that has gained the most attention of hardcore Beatles fans is the mono box set because it’s the first time in decades that The Beatles mono mixes have been available to purchase new in any format.
Purist Beatles fans believe that these mono mixes are really the way their music was originally meant to be heard and they have a good reason for believing that. It was the mono mixes that most people listened to back in the 1960s and The Beatles spent the majority of their time working on getting the mono mixes just right. It really wasn’t until around 1968 that The Beatles started to take their stereo mixes seriously.
This box set has been the most popular Beatles release of 2009. It’s been an enormous unit shifter and for good reason. It contains their complete 1960s discography in high quality digitally remastered stereo. These remastered Beatles songs sound absolutely fantastic (these discs are far better than the old Beatles discs you probably have at the moment.)
The biggest improvements compared to the old discs are heard in the way Paul’s bass guitar blasts through the mix more so than ever before and Ringo’s drums sound much better too. Another big positive is being able to hear each individual vocal part with more clearity.
This Beatles USB is a digital version of the stereo box set. It includes both 320kbps mp3s and 24bit FLAC files. Along with the obvious audio component, this USB memory stick also contains the visual elements from the stereo box set such as the 13 album documentaries, the extensive liner notes for each album, and the previously unpublished photos.
The USB memory stick is compatible with both Mac and PC computers. The mp3s should work with no hiccups with any mp3 player (whether you own an iPod, a Zune, or a generic machine.)
