Coach Youth Soccer: 5 Ways To Make Drills Exciting
Let’s face it! When it comes to coach youth soccer, every coach runs short of ideas on how to make practice drills interesting and enjoyable for the kids. In teaching soccer, the biggest difficulty is to keep thinking about new ideas that make the training for kids interesting.
Read through some tips below that you can teach youth soccer players. These allow them to concentrate on the game, become good at it, and at the same time, have fun with the game.
Get the kids going with dribbling and shooting: This is a simple drill that involves all the players at the same time. Have the kid’s line up on the single goal line. Now, disperse the balls all over the ground. Then, tell the kids to move with the ball towards the opposition’s goal in an attacking position. They should also shoot the ball as soon as they have an opportunity.
This workout helps the kids build their stamina, confidence and also improves their dribbling skills. As the players do not have any resistance, they move forward without any inhibitions and this brings out their unique style.
Passing the Ball: In this game, make the kids stand in a queue at a distant corner of the field. Count till 3 and as soon as you finish, instruct them to run towards you as fast as they can. Ask the player running towards you to try to take the possession of the ball from the player who has it. When you yell stop, the player in possession of the ball must pass it instantly to one of his mates.
When you coach youth soccer, these drills bring out the best in kids when it comes to passing and dribbling. They also learn the art of stealing the ball from other players which is very important.
Touch and Go: It’s a very interesting game which kids love to play. It requires the kids to stand in two rows under 40 meters away from the position of the goal. And in addition to this, the goalie should guard the goalpost. Position yourself anywhere amongst the two lines.
Now pass the ball to one of the queues and instruct them to shoot or pass the ball using only one touch. The idea is to translate the ball into a goal. Once the goalie returns the ball, carry on with the practice.
Swap your goalies in between the practice meetings if there are more than two goalkeepers. This game has the dual benefit of instilling team spirit and bettering the shooting skills. The game also provides the opportunity to learn the skill of saving the ball from getting to goalpost.
Keeping the ball with you: Players get to learn the skill of moving ahead with the ball protecting it from the opposite team. Take two players, one acts as the defender and the other attacker. Instruct them to start moving the ball as per their roles and when a player dominates the other, reward him with a point.

Why Every Company Needs A Yearly Calendar
No business today can operate on a one day at a time basis. For that reason, every business wants to succeed needs to have a yearly calendar.
