These days it is very easy to take the technology available to us for granted. It is all around us, and we can forget how much it has improved our lives. If you are like me and love watching movies then the internet will have really benefited you. Up until a decade ago I’d be lucky to see a couple of movies a week on video or DVD. However these days it is possible for me to watch movies all day long and all night long if I want and I never run out of movies to watch. Because there are so many movies to choose from on the internet, I don’t think I could ever run out of choices. But I have to say that I think it is both a good and bad thing to have so many options.

In my opinion, the enjoyment of watching a movie has dwindled a bit because of all the choice that we have nowadays. There is a saying which applies here who wants chocolate biscuits if the jar is always full of them? That’s the thing. It is no longer special to watch a movie. I used to look forward to sitting in front of the television with the DVD I had rented. I used to have my friends around to watch the movie and we would order in some special food. Nowadays I just stick on a film whenever I’m bored and there is nothing special about it.

Of course the positive impact of online movies more than makes up for the negatives. I really never could get bored again. Whenever the mood hits me I just go online and look for something to watch. There is no need to nip to a store to rent something. It is possible for me to stream the movie to my computer so I don’t even have to wait until it downloads. This really is a wonderful thing when you think about it. So despite a few negative consequences of movies online, I’m more than happy with the deal.

We are blessed to be able to enjoy such a number of things because of the creation of the internet. We are able to do things such as shopping, sending electronic mails, looking for and finding information - and so much more besides. Probably the most favourite thing to do though is watch movies online for free.
