DSLR Cameras: An Investment In Superior Pictures
Original Photography Slideshow
DSLR cameras have brought pro quality photography gear to average people. Of course a pro quality DSLR camera is only one part of what it takes to take truly great pictures. You also need to know exactly how to make best use of your DSLR camera and that can be quite a bit more complicated with a SLR than with a simple point and click.
I believe even more important than knowing the technical stuff is having a good eye. A great sense of what will make a good picture. A great example of this kind of “eye” can be seen when looking closely at these Original Prints by one of my favorite photographers.
From personal experience I can recommend a Canon Rebel XTi DSLR. IIt is a great Digital SLR camera that has worked well for me without any real issues for approximately four years now. It is also rather cheap by the standards of professional quality cameras. But you should be warned that those standards are rather high, it is about $750 without a lens!
As you educate yourself more on the subject of pro quality cameras you will come to understand that the lens on the camera is extremely important. If you are used to point and click cameras then you are most likely used to thinking that the amount of megapixels is the most important thing about a camera but that is not the case at all.
With DSLRs, the lens is what makes the biggest difference in the quality of your pictures. Really the subject of lenses is too deep for me to cover in this article, I just want to make sure you are aware of the importance of lenses and that if you want to get really serious about taking great photos you will need to look into the topic more deeply.
Like with all other skills, you will only become a master photographer with lots of practice. You have to read all about taking pictures and then you will need to take lots of pictures testing out all of what you’ve learned!
