The Beatles in Stereo Box

Greyson97 (YouTube username) is the latest and greatest “YouTube sensation” and for an excellent reason. Greyson97 is a fantastic singer! The way his career is taking off (he’s already booked on Ellen) off of a YouTube video is reminiscent of how the now super famous Justin Bieber got started. The difference is Greyson97’s video is much more impressive.

While I would rather listen to The Beatles Remastered Stereo CD Box Set I do have to give some love to this young kid (who the world only knows by his name on YouTube because he’s quite a vocalist, especially when his youth is considered.

Besides the obvious singing talent that he has, I think what’s most impressive is the passion that he has in his voice. I believe that’s what sets him apart from other promising young singers out there. And it’s the passion I hear in his vocals that is usually missing from most popular music in the 21st century.

But I must say that the quality of the recording on his original songs isn’t particularly good. Maybe I am being too hard on “Greyson97″ since he is just a 6th grader and all, but he could definitely benefit from reading up on info in the world of home studio recording.

Although, I’m sure that will not be necessary as some big name producer will probably jump at the chance to record an album with him. Bieber has already shown that “online viral sensations” can have a hit CD and I am pretty sure this kid could have a big hit CD too.

Despite my praise for this talented youngster I do want to end this article with sort of a “teachable moment.” Fantastic singers come and go. It’s great songs that really matter. I think what makes much of modern pop music so forgettable is not that there aren’t fantastic singers around but that there aren’t enough fantastic songwriters.
