The next thing you will want to do is insulate everything. If you are situated in an area when the water goes to a freezing level during winter, this is very important. All you need to do is go to the nearest hardware store. Good insulations can be purchased at any local hardware stores.

Most of all, you need to shut off the water if you have to be away for a long time.  This will prevent any water from freezing within the pipes. For sure all the will be drained once the water is turned off. The freezing from your pipe will be prevented by this trick.
