The Britney Spears unretouched photos were released as a part of Spear’s effort to “highlight the pressure exerted on women to look perfect”. No doubt that releasing these photos probably won’t hurt the credit repair Britney seems to be trying to do following scandal after scandal.

The photos also reveal that, like most other women, Britney Spears does, in fact, have cellulite on her thighs.

Jumping on the unretouched photo trend?

Britney Spears seems to be jumping on the minor trend of unretouched photos. Marie Claire recently ran a cover with Jessica Simpson, without makeup and without retouching. Questions about a heavily airbrushed photo of Kimora Lee Simmons were also openly answered. The trend of “revealing” retouching, airbrushing, and generally improving photos does not yet seem to be leading to a reduction in the use of these techniques.
