Roll Bounce: A group of skate-admiring adolescents on Chicago’s South Side have to demonstrate their selves to the snobs on the other side of town while their local skating rink closes, all when facing the pleasures and pangs of growing up. As craze-based coming of age films go, this is a dent or two underneath Saturday Night Fever and an advancement over Roller Boogie. Cast includes Droop Wow, Chi McBride, Mike Epps, Wesley Jonathan, Kellita Smith, Meagan Excellent, and Tim Kazurinsky. (112 minutes, 2005)
Shadey: Infrequently ludicrous although mainly uninvolving comedy-fantasy-thriller in reference to the title personality (Sher), who is willing to puts to film the visions from his mind. He desires to use his aptitude only for tranquil reasons-yet he additionally needs money for a sex -change operation. Helmond’s role is best, that of a humorously incalculable, wacky female. Cast includes Antony Sher, Billie Whitelaw, Lesley Ash, Larry Lamb, and Katherine Hehnond. (106 minutes, 1985)
Casualties Of War: This Vietnam movie was based on actual events that occurred in 1966. We follow a squad of soldiers as they deal with all the difficulties of the war in Vietnam. In the film a full account of different war events are portrayed, the rape and murder of a young village girl is the most disturbing.
Resident Evil: Extinction: The undead press on, growing in numbers, as the number of unaffected humans dwindles. Alice had been captured, and subjected to genetic tests by the Umbrella Corporation. She escapes, and now finds she has super human skills. She will need to use every thing at her disposal if any normal humans hope to survive.
Singin in The Rain : This may be the best film lyrical of all time, styled by Betty Comden and Adolph Green from a catalogue of Arthur Freed-Nacio Herb Brown melodies. The setting is Hollywood throughout the shift to talkies, with Hagen giving the performance of a lifetime. Cast includes Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor, Jean Hagen, Cyd Charisse, Madge Blake, and Rita Moreno. (102 minutes, 1952)
I Wanna Hold Your Hand: Adolescents connive to get tickets for the Beatles’ first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. If this primordial comedy appears infrequently stupid and pretentious, that’s the cost it purchases being a commonly precise depiction of a loud occurrence.
