Gooding is his mute companion. Cast includes Paul Hogan, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Beverly D’ Angelo, Kamala Dawson, Pat Hingle, Blunt McRae, Roger Daltrey, L. Q. Jones, and Max Cullen. (93 minutes, 1994)
Marius: Entertaining, flavorful if a tad too theatrical satire of provincial life, focusing on the love of Marius Fresnay for Fanny Demazis. Raimu is amazing as Cesar, restaurant owner and dad of Marius. All 3 were the structure of the play and film FANNY 1961 Cast includes Raimu, Pierre Fresnay, Charpin, Alida Rouffe, and Drane Demazis. (125 minutes, 1931)
Only the Lonely: Chicago cop, who still lives with his mamma, falls in love-and has to conquer both his mommy’s opposition and his sensations of guilt over leaving her. An emotional update of MARTY beams, with behaviors that are really on target, containing O’Hara’s first 1973’s The Cherry Pony. Cast includes John Candy, Maureen O’Hara, Friend Sheedy, James Belushi, Anthony Quinn, Kevin Dunn, Milo O’Shea, Bert Remsen, Joe V. Greco, Macaulay Culkin, and Kieran Culkin. (102 minutes, 1991)
Uncle Buck: Cindy Russell has to visit her sick father. Her only option for someone to watch her kids is good old Uncle Buck. Irresponsible Buck has to somehow pull himself together and take care of the kids for a few days.
Holiday Hotel: Amusing lyrical constructed on paper-slim thing structure in reference to a romantic triangle, and the establishment of a nation motel that’s open only on holy days. Excellent fun, and snappier than partia1 redo White Christmas. Bing’s primordial Tempo Boys companion, Harry Harris, plays the orchestra leader. Cast includes Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, Marjorie Reynolds, Virginia Dale, Walter Abel, and Louise Beavers. (101 minutes, 1942)
Sidewalks of New York: Nowhere near Keaton’s quiet-film classics, however this talkie car has some ludicrous minutes as ignorant youthful mogul tries to reform hard road clique. Cast includes Zion Myers, Buster Keaton, Anita Page, Cliff Edwards, and Blunt Rowan. (74 minutes, 1931)
It Started With Eve: Admirable romantic comedy; Deanna poses as Cummings’ fianc’ to please his dying dad Laughton. Trouble starts while Laughton shows signs of recuperation. Cast includes Deanna Durbin, Charles Laughton, Robert Cummings, Man Kibbee, Margaret Tallichet, and Walter Catlett. (90 minutes, 1941)
