Having The Ultimate Party

How to Throw a Party

There are several ways to make a boring into an exciting event. I wanted to give my guests an evening t remember so this is what I did. All it took was a little bit of ingenuity and the spirit to have some fun

A with a Reality Show Theme.

We were tired of hosting the same old boring new year parties. So this year we went all out and hosted a with a reality show theme. We pondered over which show to pick as our theme and the unanimous verdict was SURVIVOR.  So we started preparing for our survivor themed . Since we wanted the invitations to echo the theme of our we used permanent markers on plant leaves for the invitations. The poem gave a few hints on the evening to come and warned everybody that you would need a lot of grit and guts to get through the evening but if you did there was a lot of fun in store. We knew the would be a hit because we had 22 people walking in instead of the expected 15. People followed our instructions and got a clothes change along

Now we had planned a few activities for our guests. The first game was a lot of fun because our guests had to walk on a tight rope tied across a Jacuzzi filled with water and ice cubes. The tight rope walking round saw everybody take a dip in the icy cold water

For the endurance round which to come up next we laid a few old mattresses on the floor, the game was simple one person was supposed to pick another person and run to the finish line but you would have to run across the mattress which is what posed the real problem.

So we were done with courage and strength the next in line was the intelligence test for this each team got an egg, some scotch tape and a balloon. The teams had to make their masterpieces in such a way that even if it would be thrown on the floor the egg wouldn’t break .
We wanted the food to do justice to the theme of our , so we kept it light. Since the preparations for the were elaborate we dint think it would be possible to serve a five course meal. So we had some crunchy lettuce salad, a delicious barbeque and some vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate. For drinks, once again we wanted to keep it simple and so we just served beer However, we did open a bottle of champagne after midnight..

We ended our play session at about 10: 30 drenched to the bone and laughing so hard that our neighbors could probably hear us. After the games round we thought it would be appropriate to change our clothes and then go in for the steak dinner however after midnight we still had one more game left for our guests. For this game we needed one member from each team. It was a simple task that involved eating the maximum number of cup cakes that you could in a minute. After those juicy steaks nobody could eat more than 5.And that’s how we ushered in 2009.  Read more about this and other topics at mymmoshop.
