Maintenance records and used cars
One of the things that a lot of people are doing now is wanting the maintenace records when buying a used car. People are looking to see if a used car has a maintenance record. Because after all if somebody took care of a car you can trust it will last longer. So if you have a vehicle you own it will be critical to keep a record of all maintenance.Because a lot of buyers will want to take a look at that.
So some things you can do is every time you go in to get service for your car keep a receipt of it. In my San Diego auto repair business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.Be certain that the companies you are taking it into will do the same thing. This could mean the difference in getting the price you want or settling for a lot less.
Also whenever you take your car in for a tune up keep a record of it.Getting your car tuned up regularly will allow your car to last longer and run smoother.It also is very helpful in getting your car to easily pass a smog check. In my San Dieg smog check center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.
Finallly even for getting your brakes serviced you want to make sure to keep good records of that service.This is another important part of making sure your car is taken care of.It one thing that a prospective buyer will want to look at. Because the last thing a new buyer wants is a big expensive brake service they need. So in my San Diego brake shop I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.
Hopefully you see how important maintenance is if you want to sell your car for top dollar.A lot of buyers now want a history of mainteance for the cars they want to buy. By keeping records you can prove that you have been taking care of it.
