Have We Had Enough Of Ugg Boots Yet?
There’s no doubt that the ugg boot has taken the US by storm, but what about its original country, Australia? Isn’t it where they originated? You’ll be pleased to know, that they also can’t get enough, and ugg brand boots are selling there just as well as here. The one thing we have here that seems to keep trends going is Hollywood. Known for its glitz and glamour of movie stars, there is nothing else like it anywhere on the planet.
It’s fairly common for just a single celebrity to wear something that is a little unusual and have the entire fashion world take notice. An Australian celebrity landing on the front page of US papers is unlikely here. It’s the same there, their people are more concerned with their own citizens. But just by having one worldwide star promote and wear something fashionable and it can spread throughout the world.
Australia is known for its great music, its fantastic culture and heritage that goes back thousands of years. It was also a British colony as was the US. The US has had a remarkable history with many great moments and products, so why does the fashion world keep talking about these Ugg boots? Isn’t there anything more interesting to talk about? There are a ton of topics to write and talk about, unfortunately, what sells and what readers want to read about dictate what gets printed.
How about the boomerang? That’s certainly an Australian invention. That’s a real weapon, something that was used to hunt food and used to survive. And now there’s Ugg Boots. What went wrong? Have to hand it to them, they’re great at creating demand. Give the people what they want. It seems that the demand for cheap ugg boots has not peaked. You have to be smart. Just like many products and clothes before, fill the demand, and nobody wants them anymore. Anybody remember the cabbage patch doll craze? As soon as every little kid in the world had one, there was no demand anymore, and the product couldn’t sustain itself to last into the next generation of kids.
So what can be done to prevent this kind of thing happening to our Ugg boots? Limit production. As long as there isn’t enough to go around, the demand will stay. How long? No one really knows, but keep it up long enough and you will can eventually cross into another generation. That would a dream, especially for a product that people don’t need.
