Gaara Of The Desert
Have you heard of Gaara of the Desert? Is it a strange plant that lives on sand? Or is it some nomadic race of men who ride giant camels through the dark of night? You’re going to be amazed. Gaara of the Desert is a character in an Anime and Manga called Naruto.
Gaara of the Desert is a very meaningful name in Japanese. Gaara has a tattoo on his for head. It’s a character that comes from his name, meaning love. His name also has the characters for carnage and self in it. Thus his name can be taken to mean person who enjoys carnage.
Gaara of the Desert fits the name, he loves to kill. At six years old he murdered a person who passed him in the streets. That concerned his father. His father sent assassins to kill Gaara, but instead Gaara killed them. Even ninjas, hired by his father, couldn’t get the job done.
When “Naruto” begins Gaara of the Desert is only 12 years old. He was created by his father, yes the same one who tried to kill him, as a perfect fighting machine. He was infused with a demon which makes them violent and powerful. Gaara is doomed to always stay awake or the demon will control him.
Gaara of the Desert was originally designed as a foil, or antagonist, for the main hero Naruto. Their creations were similar. However, each became quite different. Simply put Naruto used his powers for good while Gaara used his for evil. They face each other many times. Naruto destroys Gaara by taking out the demon. But later Naruto brings Gaara back to life.
Every hero needs a villain to bring out the best in him. Gaara of the Desert has filled this role throughout the Naruto narrative. Fans love him, and consider his battles with Naruto some of the best there are.
If you ever meet him, don’t make Gaara of the Desert angry. You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry.
